期刊介绍
Plant and Soil publishes original papers and review articles exploring the interface of plant biology and soil sciences, and that enhance our mechanistic understanding of plant-soil interactions. We focus on the interface of plant biology and soil sciences, and seek those manuscripts with a strong mechanistic component which develop and test hypotheses aimed at understanding underlying mechanisms of plant-soil interactions. Manuscripts can include both fundamental and applied aspects of mineral nutrition, plant water relations, symbiotic and pathogenic plant-microbe interactions, root anatomy and morphology, soil biology, ecology, agrochemistry and agrophysics, as long as they are hypothesis-driven and enhance our mechanistic understanding. Articles including a major molecular or modelling component also fall within the scope of the journal. All contributions appear in the English language, with consistent spelling, using either American or British English.

plant and soil receive far more manuscripts (~3400 in 2019 to 2020) than we can possibly publish, and we can only accept less than 20% of all the submissions. we accept only those that are most novel, conceptually stimulating, and of interest to a general audience. we thus reject a large proportion of submitted manuscripts, many without review.
我第一次投稿plant and soil期刊,以我的这次经验,片面的认真的严肃的发表一下我的个人观点,仅是表达个人看法,望勿喷。这次plant and soil期刊给我的感觉就是“专业”和“扎实”,真的是你有这样的一篇文章,没有人会骂水,我个人觉得相对于现在很多的十分甚至10分+水刊,发上去后同行们都是一脸不屑,而对于传统的老牌期刊,尤其是老牌的生态期刊,哪怕影响因子显著低于那些明星期刊,但是广泛同行是比较认可的,是会留下好印象和受到好评的!希望老牌生态期刊们越来越强!
19年初中了一篇,总体来说审稿速度挺快,一审3个审稿意见,意见挺全面,二审小修后接受。19年底又投了ldd,结果苦等3个月,发邮件问了一下什么情况,说审稿人太忙,然后拒了,我看同时期发表的相似文章都挺快的,我觉得网友说的对,ldd主要看认不认识人,有认识人审的就快,否则。。。今年年初又投一篇plant and soil,依然速度很快,正在审稿中,希望好运。祝大家2020年试验顺利,论文都中。
土壤呼吸方面的文章,之前投sbb被拒后,转投plant and soil,毕竟是老牌top期刊,但是没想到杂志处理稿件的效率极高,2018-8-13投稿,2018-9-26大修,2018-10-6修回,2018-10-31小修,2018-11-6修回,2018-11-8接收。两位审稿人的建议都很客观有用,根据他们的建议修改后,文章确实提高不少。编辑tim s. george效率很高很负责,基本修回后第二天就给送外审或者做决定。从投稿到接收一共不到三个月,确实超乎我的想象。之前投稿的另外一个期刊也是属于springer,同样也是投稿到接收不到三个月,现在对springer旗下的期刊颇有好感,下次可能会试试biology and fertility of soils。
